In 1991, Mt. Hotham skier Nick Farr decided to visit Aspen and see what all the fuss was about. Nick was spending months each year skiing in North America and Aspen had always been on the 'to do' list. In 1992, 1993 and 1995, Nick made further trips to Aspen and along the way researched the viability of commencing guided and instructional ski tours to this amazing destination

In 1995, Summit Ski & Snowboard Tours was born and 1996 saw Nick lead his first tour of Australian guests to Aspen. Despite a declining Australian dollar, Summit Aspen continued to grow and successful tours were operated each year through 2003. In 2004 the tours continued under the Ski One banner and later that same year, the business was renamed Ski Aspen

A new name and a new website but those behind Ski Aspen remain the same. Everyone involved in our program is here because they love the mountains, the snow, skiing and Aspen ... and not necessarily in that order. They also love sharing and showing this incredible ski town to our many loyal guests that return year after year

Today, Ski Aspen enjoys a returning guest rate of around 60% on every tour. This is testament not only to the great product and reputation we've developed, but to Aspen itself and all those that have been part of our journey along the way. Ski Aspen exists because the Aspen ideal continues to lure us back. Skiing is our reason for going to work, and skiing in Aspen is our passion

To all our guests past and present, our friends at the Aspen Skiing Company and everyone that has helped us along the way, a sincere thanks to you all. Skiing for us is much more than getting out on the snow each day - its great friends, great times and great memories. The Aspen ideal represents all of this and much more. Come join us in Aspen, and discover your ideal skiing experience

Best regards
Nick Farr and the Ski Aspen Team
